This timber framed corridor overlooking the Willamette River was originally built as an open loggia connecting two structures of the home and the entry courtyard. Many days throughout the year it was engulfed in morning fog or driving rain. During the course of renovating this home the decision was made to enclose the loggia. Each opening was templated so the new windows would fit the existing spaces and maintain tight tolerances with all horizontal mullions aligning. The new interior space is not conditioned but the temperature is maintained well throughout most of the year simply by controlling the air movement.
